The RX-7 Semi-Concert Artist Grand Piano was the flagship of the renowned Kawai RX Series line of grand pianos introduced in 1995. The six models of the RX Series were celebrated for their outstanding tone and touch. They were distinguished by the Ultra-Responsive Action with ABS-Styran composite parts that represented a major step forward from the traditional all-wood actions provided by most other piano makers.

As Kawai technology continued to evolve, the RX Series was succeeded by the GX BLAK Performance Series Grand Pianos featuring the innovative Millennium III Grand Action with ABS-Carbon parts.
